Silver Linings

Frosted lids were everywhere on this season's catwalks, from 3-D sparkles at DSquared (seen here) to galvanized paints at 3.1 Phillip Lim. To avoid glitz-overload, stick to these simple rules:

1. Keep shimmer to the natural contours of your eyes.

2. Only wear full-on glitter after dark.

3.And remember to only apply light-reflective shadows to the areas you want to show off.

A well-applied hint of shimmer can make your eyes look bigger and brighter. Incorrectly applied tints will make you look like David Bowie circa 1972 (unless you're into that kind of thing).
