We had the chance to sit down with the delightful blonde for a chat about her beauty regimen, style must-haves, and baby on the way.
Real Beauty: What beauty products do you swear by?
Jaime King: I love Vidal Sassoon. When this opportunity came forward it was so perfect because I have been obsessed with them since I was 16they always have had the chicest haircuts way before everybody else. I really love their one-minute mask. I am not the type of girl who can sit in a salon for a very long time or even in the shower with a ten-minute mask on. This is like a minute and then shiny and beautiful hair. I also love AmorePacific face products. They have a hydrating facial serum that I love and a really great nighttime moisturizer. For me its all about moisturizing whether the hair or face, I like keeping my body and my skin hydrated.
RB: How has your beauty and fitness routine changed since you got pregnant?
JK: I really try to keep everything as effortless and easy as possible. So if I dont have to wear makeup, I really wontespecially because there are a lot of toxins in makeup. For fitness, I do Ballet Beautiful, which Ive always been doing with Mary Helen Bower, shes amazing. She also gave me some really great exercises I can do while Im pregnant. And also train with Mario Windsor for pilates and swim.
RB: Do you have any advice for other expecting moms?
JK: It is really important to love and take care of yourself and be gentle. Especially working women becauseI work a lotso for me I had to learn how to take more time to relax and do nurturing and fun things, like just laying in bed and watching movies. Your body is just changing so muchits doing crazy thingsso being with friends and doing things that make you happy is important.
RB: How would you describe your personal style?
JK: Its eclectic. I like things that are classic, but also things with an edge to them that are a bit off-centered. I like mixing and matching.
RB: How has that changed with pregnancy?
JK: Its very interesting because when you get pregnant you feel like you have to run out and buy maternity clothes and dress differently. Some women get pregnant and immediately start wearing clothes that are like boxy or oversized. I really stopped myself and said How do I still maintain my identity? I still want to feel really beautiful. So Ive been finding great things by Jason Wu, Carven (pictured to the left), Giambattista Valli, and T by Alexander Wang. Ive been wearing things that still have structure and are loose fitting around my belly, so I still have a look going.
RB: Do you have any personal style tips?
JK: It's important to understand your body type and what you love about your body. I also never expose my whole body. If youre going to do a shorter skirt, always have long sleeves. Or if youre doing something more low-cut, keep your pants or skirt very long. I think this is one way to always make sure that you look elegant and very pulled-together. There is nothing I cant stand more than short skirts and boobs outit just ruins it. A little mystery is always sexy.
